Devices are matched by your network's public IP address, just like LocalSend. File contents travel directly between browsers over an encrypted WebRTC connection — they are never stored on our servers. On some networks (corporate, public Wi-Fi with client isolation, or VPNs) device discovery may differ from your physical LAN.
Send files to any device on your network
Nearby Share is a free, browser-based AirDrop alternative. Open this page on two devices on the same Wi-Fi and they find each other automatically. Files go straight from one device to the other, peer-to-peer and encrypted, with no uploads, no sign-up and no size-capped cloud storage.

How it works
- Open securetext.cloud/share on both devices, or the Share tab in the secureTransfer app.
- Make sure both devices are on the same Wi-Fi network with VPNs turned off.
- Pick the other device from the list and choose the files to send.
- Accept on the receiving device. The files download straight to it.
Private by design
Transfers use WebRTC data channels, encrypted end-to-end with DTLS. Our server only introduces the two devices to each other. It never sees your files. Need to share text instead? Try SSAVR mode or an encrypted note.
Browser support
Works in Chrome, Safari, Firefox and Edge on desktop and mobile. Brave may not work: its privacy settings can block the direct connection between devices. See the FAQ below for the fix.
